The tartar forceps feature a curved beak to allow for the easy removal of heavy calculus from the tooth surface before scaling the teeth.
Veterinary Tartar Removal Forceps are often used when there is an excessive amount of tartar build up on dog’s teeth.
The long tip is placed behind the tooth while the curved portion is placed at the top of the tooth on the front side.
The clinician will then apply gentle pressure and pulldown the front of the forceps. Tartar will then be chipped off by this movement.
